A great value for a flatbed, and very well designed. These guys will walk you through any problems you have when building, and you get a great flatbed at half the cost of a commercial one. I am very proud to say I built this, and I couldn’t have done it on my own. I highly recommend even if you are an amateur welder like myself that you give this a try.

If you can read directions, read a tape, and cut and weld steel, you’ll have no problem with building this flatbed!
I needed do do something about the regular factory bed that was on my 2008 F250 work truck. The bed supports had totally rusted out and the bed just flopped around as it rolled down the road. Since I often need to pull around a construction site air compressor, I thought it might be nice to build my own flatbed so I could mount the compressor on the truck instead of pulling it. That would let me get into any space where the truck could fit. I checked out a lot of YouTube videos of folks building their own beds and came to the conclusion that everyone did it differently.
I am not new to metal working, but I am also not a professional fabricator. I’m sure I could’ve come up with a flatbed that would work, but these guys made it SO EASY! The detailed instructions were great. The materials list was great. But the videos that you are given access to for the build are the best part. It was a fun and relatively easy build, as long as you can cut steel accurately.
As far as the kit I received goes, it was of great quality. The steel was clean, rust free, and there was no defects in any of the machining. All of the pieces fit perfectly during fabrication and final assembly (lights and wire).
Customer service was pretty darn good too. I only reached out via email once during the build for a simple question and they got back to me within an hour with a response. I also messed up one of the rubber grommets to one of the LED marker lights when I was installing it. I looked all over my local hardware stores for a new grommet, but had no luck. I reached out to DD Fab and asked about where to get one. They responded quickly and told me they would send out a new grommet (and light because they come together) at no charge to me. WOW!
Overall, I am completely satisfied with their product and how they stand behind it! I hope you enjoy making your bed the way that you want it. This kit will give you a great bed.

Most of my welding has been repairing broken trucks or mangled equipment. I have a hard time paying folks to do stuff I can do myself, so the DD fab kit appealed to me. I have no fancy tools. Mig, 4 inch grinder, several squares, some c clamps. I ground everything out with cut off wheels in the grinder. I watched the videos then went to the shop to use what I had learned. The headache rack and it’s angles worried me, but when I got it ready to weld, I looked at it and thought ….this is genius these DD guys know their stuff. I needed some advice and Jerry fixed me right up, so the support is there if needed. Bed came out real nice. Thanks!

Excellent product and very affordable. The company was always easy to get in touch with when needed. I do wish the blueprints were more detailed for people like us working in a shop with no cell service. A few pointers for anyone looking into buying one: make sure you have a bandsaw, someone to help you is a good idea, experience with fabrication isn’t needed but definitely helpful. Yes good value! Gives a great baseline to start your build. There are many ways you can vere off and make custom adjustments.

Favorite thing was the dxf cut files. Simply forwarded the email to my local water cutting company and the parts were done. Least favorite isnt really the companies fault. The cost of the dimensional steel vary by location through out the country. I was able to purchase whole stick lengths for better cost. I also reduced the different types of steel used to cut costs as well.

Best part was that I still had the ability to customize the bed. The least favorite was the looooonnngg explanations and the repetitive nature of the tutorial videos! (I’m not critical but I’ve been welding and building stuff my entire life) I can see how someone who has never built anything…needed a great tutorial…which u did!
